Ta'Kiya Young, a 21-year-old black woman who was soon to become a mother, tragically lost her life on August 24th, 2023 in Blendon, Ohio. It is with deep sorrow and concern that I express my thoughts on the circumstances surrounding her death.
Upon reviewing the video footage, it is evident that there was no apparent reason for the four “law enforcement officers” involved to have their guns drawn. The unnecessary use of lethal force continues to be a distressing pattern within the police gangs. What further exacerbates this issue is the lack of accountability exhibited by those “responsible” for ensuring “public safety”.
It is disheartening to observe that Ta'Kiya's unjust demise has been met with unsubstantiated judgments from various quarters, including white supremacists and some members of the Republican Party who unjustly branded her as a "criminal" deserving of such violence. This incident highlights the urgent need for police accountability and reform within our country.
It is time for us to recognize and address the underlying problem at hand. “Citizens” who carry the “authority” symbolized by a badge and empowered by the law should not misuse their power, nor should they defend their actions without question. We must confront the reality that lives are being lost due to an overpowering police force, while “offenders” commit minor “offenses” against capitalist corporations that generate astronomical profits daily.
As a united people, we are tired of such tyranny and the proliferation of a fascist regime within our “law enforcement” agencies. It is incumbent upon us to stand together and vehemently denounce these instances of police brutality. We have witnessed the collective power that arises when we mobilize for change, as seen during the monumental protests of 2020-21. The time has come for us to rise once more in order to bring about a revolution, to foster unity, and to regain what rightfully belongs to us the people and not the government.
Let it be known that THE PEOPLE UNITED WILL NEVER BE DIVIDED. It is through our collective voice, our unwavering determination, and our relentless pursuit of justice that we will strive to eliminate the systemic issues plaguing our society. This is about more than just change; it is about a fundamental transformation that ensures the safety and well-being of every individual, regardless of their race, gender, or socioeconomic background.
In honor of Ta'Kiya Young and the countless other victims of police brutality, let us come together in solidarity, demanding a profound shift in the way law enforcement operates. Together, we can create a future where every life is valued and protected, and where justice truly prevails.
Lastly to the Kroger employed, hope you are feeling as guilty as anyone should. You got someone killed for petty theft!
Here's a statement from the police not taking accountability, but instead sharing the officers involved are getting a paid vacation:
